Poblana letholepis
Poblana letholepis, or the La Preciosa silverside, is a small freshwater fish that is endemic to Mexico. It is listed as Critically Endangered on the IUCN Red List. The species was described in 1950 by José Álvarez del Villar from specimens collected in the crater lake of La Preciosa, about 4 km southeast of Alchichica in Puebla State, at an elevation of about 2,365 meters (7,759 feet). It belongs to the neotropical silverside group, in the genus Poblana. Its full scientific name is Poblana letholepis Álvarez, 1950.
