Please Stand Up

Please Stand Up is a 2005 single by British Sea Power from their second album Open Season. The song signaled a shift toward a more mainstream, pop-influenced sound for the band. It was hoped to be a crossover hit, but it didn’t become a big success and some fans were disappointed by the change. The music video, shot in a more commercial style with Super 8 film, was banned by MTV in the United States for the line “A little excitement makes us wetter wetter.” The track reached number 34 on the UK Singles Chart.
