Tradition Lake
Tradition Lake is a small lake at the base of Tiger Mountain in Issaquah, Washington. It covers about 17.4 acres and sits at about 471 feet in elevation. The lake and nearby wetlands are part of the West Tiger Mountain Natural Resources Conservation Area, managed by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources.
Water from Tradition Lake drains down the mountain through several streams, but the lake has no outlet streams. Instead, water drains into the groundwater.
Issaquah once used Tradition Lake for drinking water, and traces of that infrastructure can still be seen along I-90.
The Around the Lake Trail circles the lake. The loop starts at the High Point trailhead near I-90 and features many signs about local wildlife. The path also runs along a Puget Sound Energy power line and continues to the Tradition Lake substation.
Nearby Round Lake lies to the west.
An abandoned logging bus can be seen on a nearby trail; today only the metal frame remains.
The lake allows fishing, with a shoreline that is mostly undeveloped. Largemouth bass and yellow perch can be found there throughout the year.
