Plabita Borthakur, born 17 June 1992 in Duliajan, Assam, is an Indian actress, singer and artist. She grew up in Assam and moved to Mumbai to study at Jai Hind College. Her father Probin Borthakur is an engineer and classical singer; her mother Rina Borthakur is a writer. Her sisters Parineeta and Priyangi also work in films. She began her career with ads and with her band Manu and Chow. Plabita made her film debut in PK, playing Anushka Sharma’s sister, and later starred in Lipstick Under My Burkha as Rehana Abidi, a role that brought her wide recognition. She has appeared in web series such as What's Your Status (2018), Parchhayee (2019), and Bombay Begums (2021) as Ayesha, as well as in films Waah Zindagi and Chhote Nawab. She is also an independent musician with the band Manu and Chow, releasing original songs and the music video "P".
