Petr Černý FRSC (8 January 1934 – 7 April 2018) was a mineralogist and professor at the University of Manitoba. His research focused on pegmatites, and he is best known for mapping Bernic Lake, Manitoba, in the 1970s. The Bernic Lake area later became the site of several mines, including the Tanco Mine, which produces tantalum, lithium, and cesium. Černý's work helped advance the understanding of pegmatites and Manitoba's geology.
