Peter James Tesei (born March 5, 1969) is an American businessman and Republican politician from Greenwich, Connecticut. He served as First Selectman of Greenwich from 2007 to 2019, six terms, and was succeeded by Fred Camillo. He ran for Lieutenant Governor of Connecticut in 2018.

Born in Greenwich, his family moved back to town in 1967. He earned a BA in Political Science from the University of Connecticut in 1991. Before becoming First Selectman, he was Vice President of the wealth management group at BNY Mellon in New York and he runs Peter J. Tesei, LLC, a consulting and advisory business and public affairs and communications firm for non-profits. He also serves as executive director for Pathway's, Inc.

Tesei began public service in 1988 at age 18 when elected to the Greenwich Town Representative Meeting (RTM). He spent nearly twenty years in municipal government, including time on the Board of Estimate and Taxation. In 1986, he was endorsed by Lowell Weicker.

Tesei is married to Jill (née Vaughan) Tesei, a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner who runs an independent practice. They live in Cos Cob and have two children: James (born 2009) and Caroline (born 2007).
