Christmas EveL
Christmas EveL is a four-track single album by Stray Kids, released on November 29, 2021, by JYP Entertainment as part of their Season Song project. Marketed as a holiday special single, it blends Christmas, hip hop, and pop sounds with a “Christmas naughty boy” theme. The album runs 13 minutes and 50 seconds and includes songs in Korean and English. All tracks were written and produced by 3Racha, Stray Kids’ in-house team, with contributions from HotSauce, Nickko Young, Earattack, and Versachoi. Felix and Korean American rapper Junoflo co-wrote the English lyrics for Domino, which originally appeared on Noeasy.
The four tracks are:
- Christmas EveL, the title track, a funky hip hop song that looks at the less warm side of Christmas.
- 24 to 25, a Christmas ballad about wanting to spend December 24–25 with fans Stay.
- Winter Falls, a ballad pop song about trying to clear thoughts of a past relationship during winter.
- Domino, the English version of the Noeasy track, with English lyrics by Felix and Junoflo.
Before the release, Stray Kids teased the project with posters and videos. The Christmas EveL video premiered with the album, followed by Winter Falls the next day, and 24 to 25 on December 6. The group chose not to promote the songs on music shows as a thank-you gift to their fans for 2021.
On the charts, Christmas EveL topped the Gaon Album Chart, selling about 654,658 copies in late November and earning triple platinum status from KMCA for around 750,000 copies. It was nominated for Album of the Year – 4th Quarter at the Gaon Chart Music Awards. The release also appeared on international charts, including Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums in the United States.
Critics noted the release’s strong holiday atmosphere and Stray Kids’ signature style. NME gave it 4 out of 5 stars and highlighted the fiery English version of Domino as a standout, while praising the overall Christmas vibe of the record. Christmas EveL contributes to Stray Kids’ continued momentum after their 2021 achievements, including winning Kingdom: Legendary War and the successful Noeasy album.
The album runs 13 minutes and 50 seconds and is built around a blend of festive mood and Stray Kids’ hip hop energy, offering fans a festive yet edgy holiday listen.
