Perplex Ridge
Perplex Ridge is a rocky ridgeline in Antarctica that rises more than 915 meters. It stretches about 6 nautical miles (roughly 11 kilometers) northeast from Lainez Point along the northwest side of Pourquoi Pas Island, off Graham Land’s west coast. The ridge consists of four rocky masses separated by small glaciers.
The ridge was first seen and roughly charted in 1909 by the French Antarctic Expedition led by Charcot. It was later surveyed in 1936 by the British Graham Land Expedition and in 1948 by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey. It was named by the FIDS because there was confusion identifying the ridge on earlier maps.
