Pennsylvania Route 10
Pennsylvania Route 10 (PA 10) is a 44.04-mile state highway in southeastern Pennsylvania that runs from Oxford to Reading. The route passes through Chester, Lancaster, and Berks counties and is mostly a two-lane road that serves several towns along the way.
Where it goes
- Southern end: Intersection with PA 472 in the borough of Oxford, Chester County.
- It heads north through rural areas, passing through Russellville (PA 896), Cochranville (PA 41), Parkesburg (PA 372), and Compass (PA 340), then Honey Brook (PA 322).
- It briefly touches a corner of Lancaster County near Compass before entering Berks County.
- In Morgantown, PA 10 has an interchange with I-176 (which provides access to the Pennsylvania Turnpike, I-76). From Morgantown northward, the road runs roughly parallel to I-176 toward Reading.
- In Morgantown, PA 10 briefly joins PA 23 along Main Street before splitting off to continue north on Morgantown Road toward the Turnpike.
- The highway passes just north of the Morgantown Center area, crosses I-76, and comes to interchanges with I-176 as it moves toward Reading.
- It travels through Robeson Township and New Morgan, then heads toward Cumru Township, passing near Green Hills Lake and crossing near I-176 access ramps.
- In Cumru Township, PA 10 runs west of the Schuylkill River area and continues to Reading.
- Northern end: Intersection with US 222 Business in Reading, just south of an interchange with US 422.

History in brief
- The route follows parts of an old Native American trail on Limestone Road.
- 1911: Designated as Legislative Route 274 from Oxford to Reading.
- 1927: Became part of PA 42, running from Oxford to Reading.
- 1935: US 122 replaced PA 42 between Oxford and Reading.
- 1955: PA 10 was designated along the former US 122 segment from Oxford to Morgantown.
- 1963: US 122 was decommissioned; PA 10 was extended north along the former US 122 alignment to US 222 Business in Reading.
- 1960s: I-176 was built parallel to PA 10 between Morgantown and Reading.
