Rainbow Connection IV
Rainbow Connection IV is the fourth album by Rose Royce, released on August 17, 1979, on the Whitfield label and produced by Norman Whitfield. It was the last album with lead singer Gwen Dickey before she left to pursue a solo career. The record (44:30) blends funk, soul, and disco and was recorded at Fort Knox Studio in Los Angeles. It reached #22 on the R&B albums chart and #74 on the Billboard 200. Two singles were released: "Is It Love You're After" (August 1979), which peaked at #31 on the Billboard R&B Singles chart and #13 in the UK, and "What You Waitin' For" (November 1979), which did not chart. The album was remastered and reissued on CD in 2010 by Wounded Bird Records.
