Pegasus Fantasy
Pegasus Fantasy is a 1986 hard rock/anison song by the Japanese metal band Make-Up. It was released as the A-side of the single Pegasus Fantasy, with Blue Forever as the B-side, and served as the opening theme for the first half of the original Saint Seiya anime. The song became Make-Up’s biggest hit and has been released again several times. In 2012, a new version called Pegasus Fantasy Version Omega, featuring guest vocals by Shoko Nakagawa, was used as the opening for the Saint Seiya Omega series and reached No. 29 on Oricon. The song has appeared in the Saint Seiya manga and in the video game Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum ’n’ Fun!. It has been covered by many artists, including Animetal, Animetal USA, Eizo Sakamoto, Takeshi Tsuruno, Sadie, Trick or Treat, and Derdian, and was reinterpreted by Mary’s Blood in 2020 on Re>Animator with a duet by Eye and NoB. A Brazilian Portuguese version featuring Edu Falaschi exists, though Falaschi has said it was originally a demo that ended up on the air in a lower-quality form.
