Ihor Prokopchuk
Ihor Vasyliovych Prokopchuk (born March 3, 1968) is a Ukrainian diplomat. He is the Ambassador of Ukraine to Romania, a post he has held since May 4, 2022. Previously, he served as Ukraine’s Permanent Representative to international organizations in Vienna from 2010 to 2019, heading Ukraine’s mission to the OSCE. Earlier in his career, he was Ukraine’s ambassador to Lithuania from April 15, 2008 to 2010. He graduated from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv in 1992 and began his diplomatic career as an attaché in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was born in Korosten, Zhytomyr Oblast, and has two children. He is the younger brother of Alexander Prokopchuk, a Russian police officer who was Vice President of Interpol for Europe from 2016 to 2019.
