Parkinson Memorial Secondary School

The Pines, Wildey, St. Michael, Barbados

Parkinson Memorial Secondary School is a public, co‑educational high school. The motto is Onward Ever Upward. It was established in 1960 and officially opened on 22 February 1961. The school is named after educator Augustus Rawle Parkinson.

The Principal is Ian Holder, and about 870 students attend the school.

The school celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2011 with a month of activities from 19 February to 19 March.

In 2017, students raised $1,000 to help Dominican students after Tropical Storm Erika.

In 2018, Goddard Enterprises Ltd. donated $1 million to rebuild Block D, which had been damaged by fire. The company said investing in education is important and the partnership would provide job placements and work experiences for many students, helping to develop future leaders and entrepreneurs in Barbados.

In 2019, at a leadership conference, students were encouraged to be innovative, resourceful, and maintain a positive attitude as part of the school’s positive behaviour management program.
