Excentris
Excentris was a performing arts center and cinema on Saint-Laurent Boulevard in Montreal. It was created by Daniel Langlois as a place for digital media work and film screenings. The complex opened in June 1999 after two years of construction, costing CA$6.2 million and covering about 70,000 square feet. In 2009 it faced financial trouble and two of its three cinemas were shut down. It reopened in 2011 as a three-screen venue with funding from CA$4 million from SODEC, CA$2.75 million from the City of Montreal, and CA$1 million from the Daniel Langlois Foundation. The center closed again in November 2015 due to financial difficulties. Cinéma Parallèle, the non-profit that ran it, entered bankruptcy protection in May 2015. In 2018 the building was sold to Collège Salette for CA$1.6 million.
