Parasimuliinae is a subfamily of black flies in the family Simuliidae. It has only one genus, Parasimulium, and four described species. Most species are rare, and some live in caves, in western North America. Classification: Kingdom Animalia; Phylum Arthropoda; Class Insecta; Order Diptera; Family Simuliidae; Subfamily Parasimuliinae. The subfamily was established by Smart in 1945, and the type genus Parasimulium was described by Malloch in 1914.
