Ottoman studies
Ottoman studies is a humanities field that studies the Ottoman Empire from many angles: history, culture, religion, art (including literature and music), science, economy, and politics. It is part of Oriental studies, Middle Eastern studies, and Turkish studies. Some scholars, including Marc David Baer, say the field faces ethical problems because Armenian genocide denial is widespread in the scholarship.
