Nick Florence is a former Baylor University quarterback. He was born on June 21, 1989, in Dallas, Texas, and went to South Garland High School. At Baylor (2009–2012), he threw for 8,001 yards and 87 touchdowns. A three-star recruit, Rivals ranked him as the 22nd-best dual-threat quarterback in his class. He started seven of nine games as a true freshman in 2009 after injuries to RGIII and Blake Szymanski, finishing with 1,786 yards, 6 TDs and 9 INTs. In 2010 he was a backup, and in 2011 he played in two games. He became the starter in 2012, throwing for 4,309 yards and 33 TDs with 13 INTs, plus 568 rushing yards and 10 rushing TDs. In the 2012 Holiday Bowl, he broke RGIII’s Baylor single-season passing yards record. After college, he chose not to pursue the NFL and earned a master’s degree at Baylor. He now works at Baylor as a managing director of development.
