Otago Central
Otago Central was a New Zealand parliamentary electorate in the Otago region. It existed in three periods: from 1911 to 1919 as Otago Central; from 1928 to 1957 as Central Otago; and from 1957 to 1978 again as Otago Central. In 1978, the electorate was abolished and its area became part of the Otago electorate.
Population centres
The electorate covered parts of Central Otago, including Roxburgh, Alexandra, and Ranfurly. It mainly included areas that were once part of the Tuapeka and Taieri districts.
History and Members of Parliament
- The first MP was Robert Scott, who had been the sitting member for Tuapeka.

- Murray Rose (1969–1972)

Elections
Elections were held regularly, including 1911, 1914, 1928, 1931, 1935, 1938, 1943, 1946, 1949, 1951, 1954, 1957, 1960, 1963, 1966, 1969, 1972, and 1975. In 1957 the seat was renamed Otago Central again, and it remained in existence until it was abolished in 1978.
Abolition
The Otago Central electorate disappeared in 1978 and its area became part of the Otago electorate.
