Ogdoconta margareta
Ogdoconta margareta (Crabo, 2015) is a small moth in the Noctuidae family. It is found in southeastern Arizona, USA, and nearby Sonora, Mexico. The forewings are about 13 mm long and have a mix of brown-gray, off-white, and fawn colors, giving a hoary purplish-brown look. The pattern includes faint basal and antemedial lines, a double brown-gray postmedial line, a pale, wavy subterminal line, and a dark brown terminal line with pale edge scales. The hindwings are off-white with a touch of brown-gray along the veins. Adults have been recorded on the wing in early September. The species is named after the author's mother.
