2011–12 Football League Championship

The 2011–12 Football League Championship, known as the npower Championship for sponsorship, was the eighth season under this name. Reading were the champions, clinching the title on 21 April after Southampton lost. Southampton finished second and were automatically promoted. West Ham United finished third and earned promotion by beating Blackpool in the playoff final at Wembley.

Relegated to League One were Doncaster Rovers, Coventry City, and Portsmouth, the latter two affected by a 10-point deduction after Portsmouth entered administration.
