Chiroteuthoidea
Chiroteuthoidea is a superfamily of squids in the order Oegopsida. One member is Joubiniteuthis porteri, known as Joubin's squid. In scientific classification, they belong to the kingdom Animalia, the phylum Mollusca, and the class Cephalopoda. The group was named Chiroteuthoidea by Gray in 1849 and is the sister group to Pholidoteuthoidea. It includes six families: Batoteuthidae, Chiroteuthidae, Joubiniteuthidae, Magnapinnidae, Mastigoteuthidae, and Promachoteuthidae.
