Pri Gan
Pri Gan, meaning “Fruit Garden” in Hebrew and also known as Prigan, is a small moshav (farming village) in southern Israel. It sits in the Hevel Shalom area of the northwestern Negev and is part of the Eshkol Regional Council. The community was founded in 1981 by evacuated settlers from Pri'el, a Sinai settlement that was evacuated under the Egypt-Israel peace treaty. In 2023, about 330 people lived there. The main crops are vegetables and flowers. Pri Gan was attacked during the 2023 Hamas assault. Eleven security team members from nearby Shlomit died defending the moshav, but no residents were killed.
