Obata Station (Aichi)
Obata Station is a train station in Moriyama-ku, Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. It is operated by Meitetsu and serves the Meitetsu Seto Line. The station is 8.6 kilometers from Sakaemachi, the line’s starting point.
The station has two opposite side platforms, capable of handling trains up to six cars long. It has automated ticket machines and Manaca card turnstiles, and the station is unattended.
History:
- Opened on April 2, 1905, by the Seto Electric Railway.
- The Seto Electric Railway became part of Meitetsu on September 1, 1939.
- A new station building was completed around 1999–2000.
Passenger use:
- In fiscal year 2017, about 6,650 passengers used the station daily.
