Levan Makashvili
Levan Makashvili, nicknamed The Hornet, is a Georgian-American mixed martial artist born January 7, 1989, in Gori, Georgia. He competes in the Lightweight division of Absolute Championship Akhmat (ACA) and has fought in the UFC, Fight Nights Global, and CES MMA. A former wrestler, he moved to the United States in 2013 to pursue MMA and fights out of Oceanside, New York with Team Mutant. He holds a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and fights in an orthodox stance.
Makashvili began his pro career in 2011 and has a record of 32 wins, 10 losses, and 1 draw (8 wins by knockout, 1 by submission, 12 by decision). He made his UFC debut in May 2015, defeating Mark Eddiva by split decision, but later faced losses to Hacran Dias and a draw with Damon Jackson after a point deduction. After competing in other promotions, he joined ACA in 2019, earning wins and facing several ups and downs. Notable recent results include a knockout win over Roman Dik in 2020, with later losses to Vener Galiev, Islam Meshev, and Roman Ogulchanskiy in 2023–2024.
