Kinkler, Texas
Kinkler is an unincorporated community in Lavaca County, Texas. It sits on U.S. Route 77, about 7 miles north of Hallettsville. The community was named after Jack Kinkler, who settled there in 1875. A school existed by 1880, and a post office operated from 1885 to 1905. Because it’s close to Hallettsville and Schulenburg, Kinkler never developed a large commercial district. The Texas Almanac listed two businesses there in 1933. In 2000, about 75 people lived in Kinkler.
