Scutus rueppelli
Scutus rueppelli is a species of sea snail in the family Fissurellidae, known as keyhole limpets and slit limpets. It lives in the Red Sea. The name honors the German naturalist Eduard Rüppell (1794–1884); the original spelling was Rüppeli. The species has been described under several other names, including Parmophorus rueppeli, Scutus savignyi, and Scutus unguis. The accepted name is Scutus rueppelli (Philippi, 1851).
