The North West Football League (NWFL) is an Australian rules football league in North West Tasmania, Australia. It began in 1987 as the Northern Tasmanian Football League (NTFL) after the two main northern Tasmanian leagues lost clubs to a statewide competition. The NTFL was seen as a lower tier than the Statewide League. In 2014, the league changed its name to the North West Football League (NWFL).

Today the NWFL has eight clubs. The current chief executive is Morgan Hughes and the president is Andrew Richardson. The most recent premiers are Devonport, and the team with the most premierships is Ulverstone Robins with nine titles. The league's website is nwfl.com.au.

Historically, after the Statewide League collapsed in 2000, northern and coastal clubs returned to the NTFL and dominated for eight years. When the Statewide League was revived in 2009, five clubs left the NTFL, shrinking it to six. Since 2009 the competition has been made up mainly of north-west coast clubs with NWFU roots. In 2015 Burnie and Devonport rejoined the competition, each fielding reserves in the NWFL seniors while remaining in the Statewide League reserves; this brought the number of clubs to eight. In 2017 Burnie left that arrangement, reducing to seven, and in 2018 Burnie and Devonport moved their senior teams to the NWFL proper. Games in the NWFL typically draw about 500 spectators.
