Christian Tămaș (born 13 November 1964 in Letca, Sălaj County, Romania) is a Romanian writer, translator, essayist and researcher in the arts and humanities. He studied Arabic language and literature at the University of Bucharest, graduating in 1988. He later earned a master's degree in adult education (2006) and a PhD in philosophy (2007) at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Iași. His PhD thesis was “Communication Strategies in the Qur'an.”

Tămaș writes novels, short stories, essays and literary criticism, and publishes scientific books and humanities articles. He also translates from Italian, Arabic, Spanish, Catalan, French, English, Irish and Portuguese.

Since 2008 he has conducted research at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University and teaches Arabic language and civilization there as well as at the Arab Cultural Center of Iași.
