"Reason" is a single by Australian rock band Grinspoon from their third album, New Detention. It was released on 20 September 2002 and recorded during 2001–2002. The post-grunge track runs 3 minutes and 49 seconds. It was released by Universal Records and written by Phil Jamieson, produced by Phil McKellar. It was the third single from New Detention, following "Lost Control" and preceding "1000 Miles." The song peaked at number 62 on the ARIA Singles Chart and was voted number 15 in Triple J's Hottest 100 of 2002.
