Nintama Rantarō season 1

Nintama Rantarō Season 1 is a 47-episode anime that aired on NHK from April 10, 1993, to March 19, 1994. It was the only season to run about 26 minutes per episode, with most episodes containing two 11-minute segments (episode 38 has three segments). Starting with Season 2, episodes were shortened to 10 minutes.

The opening song is Yūki 100% by Hikaru Genji, and the ending song is Dancing Junk by Super Monkey's.

Home video releases:
- VHS: Pony Canyon released the series in 22 volumes. Each volume mostly has four segments, except the last volume, which has two full episodes plus filler.
- DVD: Geneon Entertainment released two box sets in 2004. Box 1 covers episodes 1–24 (released September 24). Box 2 covers episodes 25, 27, and 29–47 (released December 22). Episodes 26 and 28 are not included in the box sets. The ending theme is not included on the box sets due to music licensing issues.
