2004 Women's Baseball World Cup
The 2004 IBAF Women's Baseball World Cup was the first edition of the tournament. It took place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, from July 30 to August 8, 2004. Five teams competed: the United States, Japan, Canada, Australia, and Chinese Taipei (Taiwan). India and Bulgaria were scheduled to participate but withdrew before the event.
The United States won the championship, earning their first World Cup title. Japan finished second, Canada third, and Australia fourth. A total of 14 games were played in the tournament. MVP of the event was Laura Brenneman.
