Newham North West
Newham North West was a UK parliamentary constituency in the London Borough of Newham. It existed from February 1974 until 1997 and elected one Member of Parliament by the first-past-the-post system. It was created from West Ham North and later merged into West Ham after combining with part of Newham South in 1997. In 1971, 15.3% of residents were non-White; by 1981 this rose to 32.7%. The constituency shared its boundaries with the Newham North West division for Greater London Council elections in 1973, 1977 and 1981, and included the wards of Forest Gate, New Town, Park, Plashet, Stratford, Upton, and West Ham.
