The Shawnee News-Star
The Shawnee News-Star is a daily newspaper published in Shawnee, Oklahoma. It serves Pottawatomie, Lincoln and Seminole counties in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area. The paper began in 1894 as The Weekly News and took its current name in 1943 after the Shawnee Evening Star and Shawnee Morning News merged. It is printed in a broadsheet format and has a circulation of about 6,000. The headquarters are at 1725 North Kickapoo Avenue, Suite 101, Shawnee, OK 74804, United States. The current owner is CherryRoad Media, with publisher Jeremy Gulban and editor Kim Morava.
Ownership history: The paper was originally owned by Stauffer Communications, which was acquired by Morris Communications in 1994. Morris sold it to GateHouse Media in 2007, and GateHouse later became part of Gannett. In February 2022, Gannett sold the Shawnee News-Star to CherryRoad Media.
