New Zealand Orienteering Federation is the national body for orienteering in New Zealand. It was founded in 1973 and is recognised by the International Orienteering Federation (IOF) as New Zealand’s official orienteering association and a member of the IOF. In addition to foot orienteering, it runs mountain bike orienteering, ski orienteering, and rogaining. The federation joined the IOF in 1974, and New Zealand first competed at the World Orienteering Championships in 1976. Chairperson: Peter Swanson. Official website: www.nzorienteering.com.
