Nangō (南郷村, Nangō-son) was a village in Higashiusuki District, Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan. In 2003, about 2,479 people lived there, with a population density of 13.03 people per square kilometer, and the village covered 190.23 square kilometers. On January 1, 2006, Nangō merged with the villages of Kitagō and Saigō (all from Higashiusuki) to form the town of Misato, so Nangō no longer exists as an independent municipality. The name Nangō means "south shire." It was part of the Irigo, the inland area. Nangō was created in 1889 by combining the now-hamlets of Kamidogawa, Nakadogawa, Mizushidani, Kijino, and Mikado.
