10th Street Market, also known as Swan's Market, Oakland Free Market, or the Sanitary Free Market, is a historic market district in Oakland, California. Located at 901–921 Washington Street, it was built in 1917 and expanded in 1926. Architects Leonard Thomas and William Knowles, among others, designed it in the Early Commercial style. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 3, 2001 (NRHP reference number 01000826). Today it is known as Swan's Marketplace, a mixed-use area with shops, restaurants, and homes. In 2001, Swan's Marketplace received the Rudy Bruner Award for Urban Excellence silver medal.
