Pririt batis
The pririt batis (Batis pririt), also called the pririt puff-back flycatcher, is a small insect-eating bird found in Southern Africa and southwestern Angola. It lives in dry woodlands and thorn scrub and makes a small cup-shaped nest low in a tree or bush.
The male has a dark grey crown and back, a black eye mask, white throat, a black rump and tail, and black wings with white edging and a long white shoulder patch. Its underparts are white with a broad black breast band and black speckles on the sides. Females and juveniles lack the black breast band and have a warm buff throat and chest. It hunts by catching insects in flight or by grabbing prey from the ground. Its song is a slow descending series of whistles: teuu, teuu, teuu, teuu. The species is listed as Least Concern.
