Nadine van der Velde is a Canadian actress, writer, and producer born on May 14, 1962, in Toronto. She is fluent in French and has won three Emmy Awards, two Annie Awards, and a Humanitas Award. She has been married to Scott Kraft since 1992 and they have two children.

She began her acting career in 1983 with the film Private School, and later appeared in Critters (1986) and Munchies (1987). Her TV work includes Silver Spoons, Otherworld, The New Alfred Hitchcock Presents, and JAG.

Beyond acting, Nadine has served as an executive producer, story editor, and writer for several shows, including Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends; 65 episodes of Rolie Polie Olie; and 44 episodes of Breaker High. She co-wrote the indie feature East of A, which screened at many film festivals.

With her husband, she started Popskull Inc., a development and production company. Through Popskull, she co-created and executive produced Nickelodeon's The Fresh Beat Band, which premiered in 2009. She wrote and produced music for more than 60 songs on the series.

Awards and nominations include a 2012 Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Main Title and Graphic Design for The Fresh Beat Band season 3, as well as two 2013 Daytime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Preschool Children's Series and for Music Direction and Composition. The Fresh Beat Band won a Daytime Emmy for Music Direction and Composition on June 14, 2013.
