Nacha Regules
Nacha Regules is a 1950 Argentine period romantic melodrama directed by Luis César Amadori and based on the 1919 novel of the same name by Manuel Gálvez. The film stars Zully Moreno, Arturo de Córdova and Eduardo Cuitiño. Set around Argentina’s Centennial, the story follows an aristocrat who falls in love with a prostitute named Nacha Regules and tries to reform her. They face hostility and ridicule from his upper-class friends, but they stay together and start a new life. The movie was a commercial success and is part of the classic era of Argentine cinema, featuring Peronist themes. It runs 107 minutes and is in Spanish.
