Muqabla (1993 film)
Muqabla (1993) is a Hindi action-drama directed by T. Rama Rao. It stars Aditya Pancholi, Govinda, Karisma Kapoor, and Paresh Rawal, with Shakti Kapoor, Asrani, Aruna Irani and Farah Naaz in supporting roles. The film is a remake of the 1992 Telugu movie Police Brothers. Music is by Dilip Sen and Sameer Sen, produced by A. V. Subbarao for Prasad Art Productions, and it released on 14 May 1993.
Plot
Suraj and Deepak are two brothers from a poor village who move to the city and join the police—Suraj as a Havaldar and Deepak as a Traffic Constable. A rift grows between them when Deepak testifies for an accused, Narendra Khanna, whom Suraj had arrested for murder. The case intensifies when Soni’s husband is murdered and the police won’t investigate; the matter goes to court. It’s revealed that Narendra Khanna is one of two twins, Narendra Kumar. Deepak presents both twins in court, and they are placed in judicial custody. After clashes between the brothers, Deepak is kidnapped by Narendra and his men, tortured, and strapped with a bomb. To protect others, Deepak sacrifices himself by jumping into a waterfall. In the wake of his death, the hawaldars mutiny; Suraj fights the criminals and finally defeats Narendra Khanna in a showdown.
