Techlog is Schlumberger’s Windows-based software platform for interpreting wellbore data. It’s a leading digital solution in the wellbore market and a flagship product alongside Petrel.

The software lets you interpret log and core data in one place, supporting all wellbore data and interpretation workflows. By unifying the workflow on a single platform, Techlog helps assess risk and uncertainty throughout the life of a well.

Techlog was developed in Montpellier, France by Techsia, a company founded in 2000. The first commercial version was released on March 3, 2002, with a user-friendly interface and tools for multi-well interpretation. Schlumberger acquired Techsia in 2009 and has continued to support and improve Techlog.

The latest stable release is 2015.1 (July 17, 2015). It runs on Windows Vista and later (64-bit), and its size is about 550 MB. It is commercial proprietary software.

New releases add capabilities beyond petrophysical and geological interpretation, including geomechanics, uncertainty, and acoustics.
