Moscow University for the Humanities (Russian: Московский гуманитарный университет - МосГУ) is an accredited private university in Moscow, Russia. It has six faculties and teaches more than 5,000 students. It is a member of the International Association of Universities.

History: The school began as the Central Komsomol School in 1944. It became the Higher Komsomol School in 1969, then the Institute of Youth in 1990. In September 1991, just before the end of the Soviet Union, it became an independent private institution. In 2000 it gained the status of an academy and was renamed the Moscow Humanitarian and Social Academy. In 2003 it became a university. Since 1994, the head has been Igor Ilinskiy, who published a history of the university in 2005.
