Moelleriopsis poppei
Moelleriopsis poppei is a tiny sea snail found in the Weddell Sea, near Antarctica. It belongs to the genus Moelleriopsis in the superfamily Seguenzioidea, but its exact family is unknown (incertae sedis).
The shell can reach up to about 2.15 mm in length. This snail lives at a depth of 2,579 meters.
The species was named by Engl in 2012. It has a synonym, Lacuna abyssicola Melvill & Standen, 1912, but that name was invalid because another species already used the same name, so Moelleriopsis poppei is the replacement name.
