Minicia gens
The Minicia gens was a plebeian family in ancient Rome. They first appear in the first century, and one member became consul during Claudius’s reign. Because their names are so similar, the Minicii are often confused with the much more famous gens Minucia. The Minicii probably came from Brixia (modern Brescia) in Cisalpine Gaul. That city received a Roman colony not long before the Second Punic War, and its inhabitants were granted Roman citizenship in 41 BC.
