Milltownpass
Milltownpass (Bealach Bhaile an Mhuilinn) is a village in County Westmeath, Ireland, about 10 km southeast of Mullingar in the south of the county. It lies on the R446 road; a 2006 bypass from Kinnegad to Tyrrellspass shortened travel through the village. It is the second largest village in the Rochfortbridge parish. The village was one of the first in Ireland to have its own electricity, generated by a mill on the Milltown River. The nearby Milltownpass Bog is a notable feature. The Milltown River starts at the north side of the village and flows south to the Offaly border, where it becomes the Monagh River.
Amenities include Grennan's pub, social services, a community centre, St. Joseph's National Primary School, and a funeral home. Local employers include Cole Arc Engineers, Wrights Windows, and Skyclad. The local GAA team is Milltownpass GAA.
