Anatoli Kamugisha (born 1963) is a Ugandan businessman, investor, and real estate developer. He is the chief executive officer of Akright Projects Limited and the president of the Uganda Private Property Developers Association. Kamugisha is regarded as one of Uganda’s wealthiest people, with an estimated net worth of about US$77 million in January 2017. He was born in Mitooma District, Western Uganda, and studied civil engineering at Kyambogo University but did not graduate after running out of money. In 1989, at age 26, he started Kanoblic Group Limited, a real estate construction firm funded by money borrowed from friends. The company won contracts from Sugar Corporation of Uganda Limited and the Norwegian Forestry Society. In 1999 he closed Kanoblic and founded Akright Projects Limited, which plans, designs, and builds organized residential communities near urban centers to combat slums. Akright has developed several estates, including Akright Kakungulu Housing Estate (Akright City). In 2002, Akright bought 1,300 acres from the descendants of Badru Kakungulu to build the estate, located at Bwebajja, about 18 kilometers southwest of Kampala along the Kampala–Entebbe Road.
