Michael Spence (rugby league)
Michael Spence (born 30 March 1988 in Brisbane, Queensland) is a former Australian rugby league player. He played for the Brisbane Broncos in the NRL in 2010, mainly as a lock but also capable of playing second-row. He came up from the Redcliffe Dolphins after playing junior football for the Coffs Harbour Comets. Spence made his first‑grade debut in Round 9 of the 2010 NRL season against the Melbourne Storm, coming off the bench in a 36–14 Brisbane win at AAMI Park.
In 2013, Spence was arrested in Brisbane and charged with drug offences; police alleged he was the sergeant-at-arms of a Hells Angels chapter. He served 18 months in prison and was released on 1 July 2015.
