Killurin, County Wexford

Killurin is a small village in County Wexford, Ireland. It sits on the River Slaney along the R730 road, about 10 kilometres northwest of Wexford town. It is in the townland and civil parish of Killurin. In 2016, 166 people lived there.

History
- A Norman castle called Deeps Castle stood at the Deeps crossing near Crossabeg on the River Slaney. The castle is now ruins and is not actually inside Killurin. It is connected to events after Cromwell’s invasion and the Battle of the Boyne in 1690. The castle has since fallen into disrepair.
- The nearby Killurin Landfill is located near the area and sometimes called the Deeps area.

Archaeology
- In the 1950s, an ancient urn and other artifacts were found in a sandpit on the Laffan-Freeman farm. The urn is now in the National Museum. The sandpit supplied sand used to build many County Wexford schools in the 1940s and 1950s.

Railway
- The Dublin–Wexford–Roslare railway line runs through Killurin along the west bank of the River Slaney. During the Irish War of Independence and the Irish Civil War in the 1920s, attacking groups damaged trains in the area.

Transport
- Bus Éireann route 382 serves Killurin on Fridays, linking it to Wexford town.
