Morganville is in northern Monmouth County. It is bordered to the north by Matawan and the Strathmore section of Aberdeen Township, and to the northwest by Old Bridge Township in Middlesex County. New Jersey Route 79 passes through the community, connecting it to Matawan about 2.5 miles north and Freehold Borough about 8 miles south.
Geographically, the area drains toward Matawan Creek and the South River, and is part of the Raritan Bay watershed.
Morganville first appeared as a census-designated place in 2010.
For transportation, NJ Transit route 139 provides bus service to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown Manhattan.
