William Green House (Ewing Township, New Jersey)
The William Green House is a brick farmhouse in Ewing Township, Mercer County, New Jersey. The site’s first home was built in the late 1600s, and the present structure includes parts dating from about 1717 to 1830. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 4, 1973, for its significance in agriculture and architecture, and it is listed in the New Jersey Register of Historic Places (designated September 6, 1973). A privately published family history says the house was the home of Judge William Green, who was born in England in the 1600s and died in 1722 in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. The house is owned by The College of New Jersey but is in poor repair. It has been considered endangered for more than 40 years, and despite 2006 stabilization work, it was named in 2015 as one of New Jersey’s 10 most endangered historic sites by Preservation New Jersey.
